TANZANIA METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY CONTINUES TO BUILD EMPLOYEE’S CAPACITY TO MEET WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION (WMO) REQUIREMENTS







TMA has conducted a second short course in Aviation Meteorology for Meteorologists to ensure that the standard required by WMO is met. This training was facilitated by Kigoma National Meteorological Training Centre (KNMTC).
The Director General of TMA, Dr Agnes Kijazi, congratulated the Management of KNMTC, during the graduation ceremony held on 28th November 2014, for facilitating the training for the second time. “Conducting this training will enable Meteorologists to meet WMO requirements on Aviation Meteorology.’’, says Dr Agnes Kijazi. The participants were also asked to utilize the knowledge gained to excel in their daily aviation duties.
Speaking on behalf of graduates Ms  Pamela, appreciate the effort done by TMA to ensure staff competence on provision of aeronautical services.
Kigoma National Meteorological Training Centre is the only centre in Tanzania which is able to provide a Meteorological Certificate and Diploma level. The Centre is registered under NACTE and also has a cross border license. It is planning to extend its training both in Tanzania and internationally.
